Is there any way to lighten acrylic craft felt? 10 points!?
I need my craft felt to be one or two shades lighter. I'm trying to make a Wolf Link plushie and I'm kind of OCD about color details xD I'm trying to turn grey into white, but I want it to fade. And I don't have enough white felt to do the job (the nearest craft store is 50 miles away... I love this state...)
I was thinking of using a bleach pen, or bleach on a Q-tip... Do you think this would work? If not, do you have any other ideas? I suppose I COULD use some acrylic paint to make the design, but I really don't want to do that as it would make the felt hard, and could crack.
Any help or advice at all would be appreciated.
Bleach may work - but I doubt it. I would try to find Color Remover - it is usually sold near the dye packets in the grocery store or big-box place.. Color Remover is stronger than bleach - but your material may not go to white - it depends on what it's original base was. An alternative would be to apply textile paint - it is more flexible than acrylics - but you will still end up with a stiffer feel - not the original texture. I understand about being too far away - my nearest craft shop is 46 miles - each direction! I use the Internet a lot - and learn to improvise. You state you are OCD about details and that is fine, except in the wild - no two animals are colored exactly the same - so maybe using something different is more realistic. Just a thought .....
