Which type of writing utensil is better?
Marker, Pen, Pencil, Crayon, Chalk, Colored Pencil?
It depends on what you want to do. They all have something they are good at, otherwise nobody would use them.
Pencils are erasable, so if you make a lot of mistakes that would be good. Also shading is easier to do with pencils.
If you don't make mistakes or you know how to cover them up, go with pen, because it looks sharper and cleaner. If you want to do shading with a pen you can always crosshatch.
I would only use marker, crayon, chalk, or colored pencils if you want color in the image, and then you should use whichever one best fits the style you want.
