Very obscure late 80's college radio/alternative song, help?
Used to hear this song on a college radio station back in like 1988-1990. It was a woman with a soft voice (kinda like the Lick the Tins remake of "Can't help falling in love with you") and some of the verses were "As I put out my hand the security of pain draws it back again" The book of reason burns and the highest tower falls" "As truth and fiction blend I pretend to understand."
I have tried looking up the lyrics and checking out all kinds of college radio rotation lists I can get my hands on. It's driving me crazy. Doesn't someone out there know what or who this is?
Hi Jenr R..
This is what I found out...
There was a band called "Show of Hands" around the time you mention.
The song in question is "Time Passes".
I haven't been able to find it to confirm lyrics.
But, here are a few links that could be useful...

The album is still sold nowadays. Try amazon.
It sounds kind of folksy (just like the song Can't help falling in Love by Lick the Tins)
Well, Cheers!! =)
